6. Difficulty Swallowing (Dysphagia)
A persistent sensation that food is getting “stuck” in the throat or chest can be a distressing sign. This red flag, dysphagia, is often related to cancers of the esophagus or throat. Tumors growing in these areas physically narrow the passageway, making swallowing a painful and difficult experience. This symptom frequently leads to unexplained weight loss.
