8. Unexplained Pain (Localized or Widespread)
As visualized by the woman clutching her abdomen, pain is often a late-stage symptom, but localized, persistent pain can sometimes be an early red flag.
- Persistent Headaches: Severe, new-onset headaches can be associated with brain tumors.
- Back Pain: Though usually a sign of muscle strain, persistent back pain can sometimes be a sign of colorectal, pancreatic, or advanced prostate cancer (when it spreads to the spine).
- Abdominal Pain: For cancers of the liver, pancreas, stomach, and ovaries, continuous abdominal discomfort or bloating is a primary symptom.
